A violin-making shop in the old-world tradition of building instruments, under the care of Stephanie Voss, a certified master violin maker graduate of the violin making school in Mittenwald, Germany. We serve musicians from the new beginners to the top professionals, all welcome at our shop.
Handmade Georgia-built Instruments We build handmade instruments made entirely in our shop by Stephanie Voss and also by Kile Hill from wood we choose and have shipped to Atlanta. Your instrument is built from woods chosen from well-seasoned spruce, maple, willow and other woods that will best serve you as your musical partner and are then paired up with varnish that we mix and color to create your instrument.
Shop Finish German Instruments We also shop finish instruments from Germany, built for us by Heinz Fischbach of Ohlstadt, Bavaria, Germany. Heinz Fischbach instruments are made of European poplar. The tops are made of beautiful alpine spruce. The neck is made of maple. They arrive here in the white, we finish the instruments here our own recipe self-made oil varnish. While we initially imported instruments built in Asia to our design, and finished them here in our shop, we have now moved to importing and finishing fine German instruments from the Fischbach shop.

Examples Of Our Work This Fishbach cello was finished here in the shop in this case without antiquing with a very transparent dark gold brown varnish color. While this is a Stradivarius pattern, other models are also available to match your taste and repertoire.
